The Shirt-Pants Couple

'Omg, why didn't I think of pairing a shirt together with a pants?', said no one ever.

Like really, apart from my above face spams, who could've never thought of this quintessential match?

Doing the usual daily routine (some people have the coffee run, while others have actual breakfast), I've decided to pop by manrepeller.com again to get inspired for my next ootd (Outfit of the day, in short, for those who didn't know) on Instagram. Lol jk, it was not for Instagram. I had a lunch date with my actual date (no pun intended) and as usual, I didn't have anything to wear. I couldn't simply use my denim jeans as an excuse to the aforementioned impending and important situation incessantly. Hence, I popped by Man Repeller to kick start the Fashion in me.

But to no avail, was my inherent penchant for fashion giving me any intuitive proposition.

'This is no good', I started to panicked, and for what god knows reason, I slipped.

I had just bruised my bum. The pain was definitely throbbing. I gawked intently on my surroundings to search for the culprit. That was when my intuition sparked. I espy this navy blue corduroy shirt I purchased from Uniqlo a few days back while I was touring in Hong Kong, casually positioned itself beside the dark denim jeans I got from H&M (on sale, score!). That was when I recalled, where Leandra donned herself in a navy shirt kinda outfit (I was still slightly blur from the accident). This is it!!! My current crisis changed itself from 'Pending' to 'Confirmed'. I met him, feeling all confident and glamorous, at the same time checking to see if there's any creases I've missed. That was when he said something, I would say, unusual.

'You look... I don't know what word to use, but you look.... Surprisingly manly', he said.

On another occasion, someone once told me that I look 'too gay'. Was there such a phrase? How can someone look 'too gay' if the - somewhat less insulting than the aforementioned - phrase 'looking gay' is ascertained to be subjective. Can this mean that 'too gay' would be even more subjective because of the adverb? What does it mean 'looking gay'? The way you dress, the way you portray yourself or the way you eat? If it was all superficial with regards to the appearance, then, what makes a person 'too gay' with his choice of garments?

I glanced at myself, and replied with a 'hmm what?', feigning the obvious that he/she was secretly (quite explicitly actually) judging my outfit. I was donned in a leopard printed blazer and a bright orange skinny trousers. Alright, either I was half asleep whilst picking out random clothes from my closet, or basically I've neglected the Mirror, but I recalled none of these instances have ever occurred. I was in my perfect sane mind, checked out the mirror thrice in my relatively man repelling - albeit seemed 'too gay' to certain individuals - outfit before I stepped out of my front door. Was this what society meant by 'looking too gay'? Feline prints and vivid hues?

I was coerced into changing my outfit. I don't know what hit me, that I've decided to conform and agree to changing out. I stripped off my orange skinny jeans and my (ultra chic) leopard adorned blazer and got into this paisley meets denim shirts from Zara (Men) and khaki chinos from Top(man).

'Okay, now you look more socially decent.'

'Whatever.'

So was it influence by Man Repeller herself, or just a subtle effort towards the transformation of my image and appearance? You'll have to decided.

Let me help you out with that decision, it was never the latter.
